The upskilling imperative: Required at scale for the future of work

From McKinsey & Company: “US workers have historically been highly adept at modifying what they do for work, and the US labor market has shown itself to be nimble and adaptable relative to some advanced-economy peers. Between 2016 and 2019, Americans changed occupations nearly three times as often as Europeans did … While the track record of US workers to change occupations bodes well for the future, there’s a problem: Of employed respondents willing to change occupations and open to a new job, 45 percent say that their need for more or different work experience, relevant skills, credentials, or education was the top barrier to finding a new job.”
