From The Chronicle of Higher Education: “Gov. Bill Lee of Tennessee, a Republican, has recommended that Tennessee State University receive $250 million for physical-infrastructure improvements and repairs, to make up for decades of underfunding at the state’s only public historically Black institution. If approved by the Republican-controlled General Assembly, the infusion of state funding would be the largest in the university’s 110-year history. The proposal, unveiled on Monday, was part of a $52.5-billion budget request for the 2023 fiscal year that includes $1.2 billion in new capital projects for public colleges.”
