MacKenzie Scott has donated $700M to HBCUs this year

From LinkedIn: “Philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has donated over $700 million to historically Black colleges and universities this year, The New York Times [subscription required] reports. Many of her gifts to HBCUs are among the largest in the institutions’ histories, including $80 million to Howard University. Other gifts include $63 million to Morgan State, $50 million to Virginia State, $19 billion to Philander Smith University and $38 million to the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore. United Negro College Fund CEO Michael Lomax called Scott’s contributions a ‘sea change in American philanthropy.’”
