From Inside Higher Education: “College students who participated in online internships during the COVID-19 pandemic did not get as much out of the experience as peers who participated in in-person internships, a new study found…Internship participation during the COVID-19 pandemic was low, with 22.1 percent of students taking an internship. Of these, roughly 50 percent took online positions, and 50 percent in person…A higher percentage of online internships were unpaid versus in-person internships…Online interns also reported lower scores for both academic and developmental value, as well as networking opportunities.”
