From Inside Higher Ed: “Across the board, everyone believes you need more education after high school. But what we’re seeing now is Republicans wanting a quicker payoff for their education, and often a certification or a two-year degree leads directly to a job where they’re using those skills,” said Courtney Brown, Lumina’s vice president of impact and planning … “But that can be shortsighted when a job ends and a [worker] needs to get upskilled or reskilled.” … “Parents still see that a four-year degree is the dream. It’s the degree that opens the most opportunity to getting paid more,” Brown said.
