Angel Pérez, CEO of the National Association for College Admission Counseling, calls the strategy ‘widening the funnel.’ There are ways around specifically using a check box for race, he said, adding that the future of diversity on campus could heavily rely on strong recruitment and a student’s ZIP code.”
