The City of Novato set out to spark community support for the local shops and restaurants in the town Kiosk US calls home. Their goal was to build civic pride and encourage residents to “Think Local First” whenever they shopped or dined.
Kiosk brought the initiative to life by rallying 287 local businesses, creating an online store guide, and producing a branded, multi-channel advertising campaign featuring 27 local store owners. The results were undeniable: retail sales rose nearly 5% in the first quarter after launch, and independent research showed that 92% of residents had seen the campaign. Increased citywide sales tax revenue made the effort ROI positive, and the California League of Economic Development recognized the work with an Award of Excellence.
