Educated but unemployed, a rising reality for college grads

From Oxford Economics: “Although demand for healthcare services occupations remains elevated, job openings for professional and business services sharply declined since 2021 by more than 40%, which caused a marked increase in unemployment within the industry (Chart 4). Some of this could be related to a normalization in hiring after the post-pandemic expansion by tech companies, following the reopening of the economy. However, as we wrote in prior research about artificial intelligence, computer and mathematical science occupations are disproportionately exposed to automation and displacement.”
